Yvonne "Von" Peterson

Yvonne “Von” Peterson, 72, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born January 27, 1951, to Bobby Daniel and Joan (Russell) Daniel in Great Bend, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Peterson, on July 8, 1978.

Von was very active in the community. She helped preserve local historical sites, such as “the Castle” at the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station (which was scheduled for demolition), resulting in the beloved old building being added to the National Historic Register in Washington D.C. She was also a small business owner. The Craft Cottage was a place for friends to gather and have a place to get away from everyday life. Von was instrumental in promoting and campaigning for the handicapped citizens of Wright County, Missouri. Two of her most cherished accomplishments are Emma J. Barber Home and Unique Services Sheltered Workshop.

Von loved the farm. She loved her two quarter horses, Banner Lake and Quita. Most of the time you could find her outside with Bob helping around the farm raising the cattle or the Dalmatian puppies. During the summers you could find several family members on the farm from the Dreyer kids to the Daniel kids. It didn’t matter, Von loved having family there.

Von was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Daniel and Joan (Russell) Daniel, her husband Robert “Bob” Peterson, and her brother Robert “Bobby” Daniel.

Survivors are her brothers, John (Annette) Daniel of Douglass, Kansas, and Patrick (Lori) Daniel of Wichita, Kansas, her sisters, Dixie (Paul) Fogle of Rose Hill, Kansas, and Gail (Del) Dreyer of Wichita, Kansas, a sister-in-law, Vicky Daniel of Guthrie, Oklahoma, a very special niece, Lacey (Patrick) Laird of Topeka, Kansas, and a very special nephew, Michael Dreyer of Wichita, Kansas. There are too many other relatives and friends to list. She loved them all with everything she had.
