Mr. Stocker was cremated under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall, Pennsylvania on November 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM.

William Charles Stocker Sr., son of the late George and Minnie (Deilly) Stocker, was born on June 15, 1917 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and departed this life on October 25, 2010 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness, at 93 years of age.
William grew up on a farm in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he also attended school. He worked as a welder in Chester Shipyard. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a Heavy Machine Gunner and was honorably discharged on August 11, 1950. During his time in the service he was awarded several medals such as: American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. Following his discharge he worked for the Boeing Aircraft and retired in 1983.
A few years ago, William was awarded a Bronze Medal for his heroic service to his country for capturing an enemy tank and it’s occupants during the war.
He was united in marriage to Beatrice Mantana Long on May 28, 1938 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Five children were born to this union. They lived in Ridley Township in Pennsylvania for sixty-eight years. They moved to Vanzant, Missouri two years ago to be near their daughter, Margaret and her family.
William was a lifetime member of the VFW in Folsom, Pennsylvania, and the American Legion Post 94 and the AmVets. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting in his spare time, He was a longtime member of the Folsom Community Baptist Church in Pennsylvania.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: William Stocker Jr.; and by twelve siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Stocker of Vanzant, Missouri; a son: Earl Stocker and his wife, Susan, of Oxford, Pennsylvania; three daughters: Margaret Henthorne of Vanzant, Missouri, Nancy Earlywine and her husband, William, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, and Rena Knisley and her husband, Russ, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law: Beth Ann Stocker of Oxford, Pennsylvania; one brother: Kenneth Stocker of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; one sister: Mae Horning of the State of Utah; eleven grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of relatives, friends, and neighbors who will miss him very much.
