William 'Bill' Van Genderen

January 16, 1916 — March 10, 2010

William “Bill” Van Genderen, son of the late Gerrett and Maggie (Rozendaal) Van Genderen, was born on January 16, 1916 in Sully, Iowa, and departed this life on Thursday, March 10, 2010 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 94 years, 1 month and 22 days of age.
Bill grew up and attended school in Iowa. He was saved at an early age and remained faithful throughout his life. He was united in marriage to Wilma Vanderleest on February 9, 1938 in Iowa. Two sons, Dale and Doyle, were born to this union.
In 1959 the family moved to Missouri where they purchased a dairy farm in Texas County near Cabool. They enjoyed farming for many years and while living there, they attended the Bado Community Church.
After their retirement, they moved to Mtn. Grove where they made their church home at the First Freewill Baptist Church.
Bill enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his farm, traveling and fishing. He also liked to do woodworking projects.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Wilma Van Genderen on May 17, 2009; three brothers: Paul, Gerald and Gean Van Genderen; and by one sister: Anne Schnell.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Gayle Van Genderen of Spokane, Missouri and Doyle and Ruth Van Genderen of Mtn. Grove; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; church family; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Free Will Baptist Church of Mtn. Grove.
No Formal Visitation

Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date

Gideons, Free Will Baptist Missions, or Mtn. Grove Christian Academy, c/o the funeral home.
