William 'Bill' Lawler

June 13, 1934 — March 12, 2016

William (Bill) Benton Lawler, 81, of West Memphis, Arkansas, born June 13, 1934 in Hartville, Missouri, and raised in Jerktail, Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life on March 12, 2016 in Yuma, Arizona, after a short illness.
He met the love of his life, Alice Jeannine Wade, at a pie supper in 1952, and they married on August 22, 1953. After living in Texas for several years they made their home in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a career he loved truck driving and retired after 47 years, with 35`` of his driving years with the Teamsters. After retirement he and his wife, Jeannine traveled for 15 years until her death on February 1, 2015.
He became a Master Mason on September 28, 1961 in Latimer Lodge No. 145 in Licking, Missouri. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge 737, West Memphis, Arkansas, in November 2005 and a Perpetual Member in 2011 and received his 50-year pin. He was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite and the Sahara Shrine in West Memphis, Arkansas. He was a 55 year Mason at the time of his death. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He attended Angels Way Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Alice Jeannine Wade Lawler, of 61 years; Father, George Burgess Lawler; Mother, Mary Alice Benton Lawler; Sisters, Ima Jeanette Cope of Hartville, Missouri and Phillis JoAnn Lemons of Hartville, Missouri; Brother, Sherman L. Lawler of Springfield, Missouri and two infant brothers.
He is survived by Daughters, Cathy Eubanks and husband, Dick, of Russellville, Arkansas, Cindy Callan and husband, Mike, of West Memphis, Arkansas, Nancy Snow and husband, Caleb (Buddy), of Stuttgart, Arkansas; son: Billy Lawler and his wife, Jacque, of Oakland, Tennessee; sisters: Venita Faye Claxton of Hartville, Missouri, Karen Jean and husband, Kenney Burney of Mountain Grove, Missouri; brothers: Farris Burgess and wife, Irene Lawler, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and George Dean and wife, Patty Lawler, of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
