William "Bill" Harrison

January 6, 1938 — June 11, 2022

William “Bill” Harrison (a.k.a. Uncle Bill), son of the late William and Bertie (Bartram) Harrison, was born on January 6, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, and departed this life on June 11, 2022, at his home in Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of 84.

Bill was baptized and attended church with his family as a boy. As a young man he received a certificate and bible for having perfect attendance. Bill was a believer and would tell those he loved “God will work things we will keep praying”. He also encouraged young adults as they were entering the real world to keep God first and you will succeed. Bill even prayed over the hay and his equipment the day before his passing.

Bill enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1957 until September 1967 honorable served until receiving an honorable discharge. Bill worked in the Navy as a Sonar Technician on destroyers. He enjoyed telling stories of being in the Navy and was a very proud Veteran. He always said that his electronic training while in the Navy helped him find work once he was discharged.

Prior to retirement, Bill worked as an electric engineer in California and moved to Missouri in 1994 when he purchased a farm that we all know he was truly proud of. He educated himself by reading material on how to farm, asking neighbors, and attending any classes he could find to help him succeed. Bill enjoyed having registered Angus and Limousin cattle. He enjoyed watching “his girls” from the windows of his home in the early morning and evening hours. Bill also joined local organizations during his early years in Missouri where he met people that became his lifelong friends.

Bill will be missed by those who knew and loved him. His witty humor was one of a kind. He was an intelligent man who was encouraging and strived to stay positive.

While we would love to have a memorial service, Bill requested that no service take place. His ashes will be spread in a special place on his farm that he enjoyed spending time on. If you would like to honor his legacy, you can make a donation to Wright County Children’s Home or Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
