William 'Bill' Donald Landers

February 2, 1937 — June 7, 2009

William Donald “Bill” Landers, was born to Carrol Bunn and Silbia Jewell (Steele) Landers on February 2, 1937 in Tulare, California, and passed away at his home near Mtn. Grove, Missouri on Sunday, June 7, 2009 after losing a battle with cancer, at 72 years of age. Bill was a hard working man whose first priority was devoted to his family by providing and caring for them. He was an animal lover and adopted many pets through-out his life. He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished fisherman.
Although he proclaimed himself to be an atheist, he actually lived his life under the Ten Commandments as closely as many known Christians. His wish was that there was more honesty in the world.
Even though he never graduated from high school, Bill was self-educated and his interest in many areas brought him a high level of wisdom, which he loved to impart. His children benefited from the strength and encouragement he gave them and this ability helped them attain their goals in life.
Bill worked at many jobs during his lifetime, ending with over twenty years as a Teamster, working for a construction company in Sacramento, California as a mechanic and also driving a ready-mix truck. He retired in 1992 and soon became a licensed Real Estate Appraiser. Not long after, he once again retired and moved to Missouri to be near his brother, who had been living here for the past forty years.
Bill and his wife moved to the Mtn. Grove area in 2000 from Galt, California. They enjoyed their farm and the many wild creatures which inhabit the Missouri Ozarks. He was preceded in death by his parents: Carrol and Silbia Landers; two brothers: Carrol Bunn Landers Jr., and Randall Landers; and by three sisters: Wanda (Landers) Carter, Dorothy (Landers) White and Patricia (Landers) Green.
Bill was the devoted and loving husband of Lois (Young) Landers for fifty-three years. The loving father of three children: Myla (Landers) Frantson and her husband, Ronny, Bill Landers Jr., and Cody Landers and his wife Wendi (Wilcox). The grandfather of five: Eric Frantson, Heather Frantson, Michael Landers, Jason Landers and Suzane Landers; he is also survived by two sisters: Barbara Jean Howell and Ella Daphene Eastin, both of Sacramento, California; many nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
