Willa Corrine Reese-Coones

Willa “Corrine” Coones, daughter of the late Harold and Cora (Wallace) Coble, was born on April 26, 1936 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on March 14, 2009 at her residence in Mtn. Grove surrounded by her family following a long illness. She was 72 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age.
Corrine grew up in Douglas County in the Vanzant area and attended the Coble School and later graduated from Cabool High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Harold McCallister on April 26, 1955. She was later married to Thomas Reese in 1968.
Corrine was a longtime employee of the Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove. She enjoyed being outdoors and going on picnics and swimming outings with her family and friends. She also enjoyed racing and in her younger years she raced on local dirt tracks in the Powder Puff Division. She was also a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races whenever possible.
Corrine was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister aunt and friend. She was a very giving person and loved helping those around her. Through the years, many of the neighborhood children considered her house as their second home.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold McCallister, Thomas Reese and Buell Coones.
She is survived by her three sons: Kirk McCallister and Dean Reese, both of Mtn. Grove, and Jimmy Reese of Cabool, Missouri; her three daughters: Eugenia McClure of Benton, Arkansas, Sally Mason and Kelley Enriquez, both of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: Calvin Coble of Vanzant, Missouri and Joe Coble of Mtn. Grove; two sisters: Ilene Woods of Vanznat, Missouri and Brenda Stillwell of Mtn. Grove; twenty-one grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.


Memorial Service:
Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Contributions/Donations:
St. Judes Children's Research Hospital c/o the funeral home.
Burial:
Penner Cemetery at a later date.
