Wesley "Wes" Crisp

May 25, 1969 — November 30, 2020

Wesley “Wes” Melvin Crisp, son of Lonnie Crisp and Sandra (Yarber) Housley, was born May 25, 1969, in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away suddenly November 30, 2020, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 51 years, 6 months, and 5 days of age.

Wes grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School with the class of 1987. He married Teresa Strong on December 29, 1988, in Cabool, Missouri. Two children were born to this union.

Wes worked for DFA for twenty-three years. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, powder coating, and any type of woodworking. He could make almost anything just by looking at it and he enjoyed being creative and making things unique. He had a big heart and made helping people a priority. He enjoyed going to races with his son, Weston. He loved all parts of it from loading the trailer and driving, to getting the bikes ready to go, and playing the part of mechanic. Wes greatly loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandkids. He and his only granddaughter enjoyed riding four-wheelers together, playing darts at 3:00 AM and listening to music. Her Papa also enjoyed helping her with softball and playing catch. Papa helped his grandkids with projects for school, and he often made special handmade Christmas gifts for his grandkids.

Wes is survived by his wife, Teresa Crisp, of Norwood, Missouri, his parents, Lonnie Crisp and his wife, Kaye, of Bendavis, Missouri, and Sandra Housley and her husband, Monte, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one son, Weston Crisp and his wife, Brooke, of Hartville, Missouri, one daughter, Tressa Ratterree and her husband, Brandon, of Hartville, Missouri, one brother, Anthony Crisp and his wife, Mandy, of Seymour, Missouri, two sisters, Annette Burt of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Loretta Ellis and her husband, Donnie, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, six grandchildren, Ella, Bowen, Finnley, Colton, Bentley, and Tucker, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
