Wayne Frances Amos, son of the late Henry and Golda (McMurtrey) Amos, was born on May 4, 1932 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life on April 9, 2012 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a short illness, at 79 years of age.
Wayne grew up around Mtn. Grove and attended Willow Springs School north of town. He had lived in the Mtn. Grove area for several years and then he moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1958, where he worked for Allis Chalmers Company for thirty years. He retired in 1988. He lived for a short time in Browning, Missouri and then moved back home to Mtn. Grove.
Wayne enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fox hunting.
He was a kind brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Burl Amos and Dean Amos; and by one sister: Mae Massey.
He is survived by his four sisters: Ruth Barnett of Mtn. Grove, Ruby Lyman of Independence, Missouri, Cleta June Carter and her husband, Edwin, of Mtn. Grove, and Oleta Clinton of Mtn. Grove; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on
Thursday in the funeral home.
