Warren Arthur Plunk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was born on July 31, 1941, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, to Zula Tate and Arthur Plunk. Warren departed this life on February 21, 2025. He was 83 years, 6 months, and 21 days of age.
Warren’s life was a testament to love, service, and kindness. Those who knew him were truly blessed to have shared in his journey. Warren proudly served our country in the United States Army from May 18, 1966, to February 18, 1968, while stationed in San Luis Obispo, California. His dedication and bravery were recognized with several honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Rifleman Badge M-14. Warren carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life, always putting others before himself.
In 1990, Warren married the love of his life, Terry Royal, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Together they built a life on their farm filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He took great pride in being a power plant operator as well as building the homes for his family. Warren’s greatest joy was his family.
Warren is survived by his wife, Terry; his brother, Frank Plunk and wife, Gail; his sister, Patricia Grooms; his son, Warren Chiahsiung Plunk and wife, Nana; his stepson, Tony Dawson and wife, Christina; his daughter, Nancy Plunk; his stepdaughters, Rachelle Paccassi and husband, Aaron, and Mindy Jeffrey and husband, Allen; fourteen grandchildren, Grady Dawson, Stone Dawson, Jade Ellis and husband, Ethan, Jasmine Taylor and husband, Dustin, Jessica Paccassi, Amanda Johnston and husband, Seth, Brigman Bell, Devin Bell and wife, Alyssa, Warren Plunk, and Weldon Plunk. Warren was blessed with many great-grandchildren who called him “Grandpa Varmint”, Gatlyn Ellis, Kayce Ellis, Charlee Ellis, Elayna Taylor, Zane Taylor, Arianna Taylor, Dax Taylor, Hadley Johnston, Harper Johnston, and Harker Bell; and extended son, Ron Mitchell.
Warren’s faith was the foundation of his life, and he now rests in peace with his Lord and Savior. His legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
