Wanda Lee Simpson

Wanda Lee (Foutch) Simpson, daughter of the late Jess and Ona (Cochran) Foutch, was born on January 9, 1929, in Madison, Kansas, and departed this life on December 6, 2015, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. She was 86 years, 10 months, 27 days of age.
Wanda grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Harry Simpson on September 23, 1949, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Five children were born to this union: Ronald, Gary, Jim, Russell, and Dale.
Wanda was saved and baptized at an early age, and she attended Pleasant Home Church. She was a member of the Church Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the food pantry. Wanda always looked for ways to help anyone she could.
Wanda was a great cook. She loved farming, quilting, gardening, and bird watching. Wanda was a loving grandmother and loved her boys very much. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband: Harry Simpson; an infant son: Ronald Simpson; and her brother: Buster Foutch.
She is survived by her four sons: Gary Simpson and his wife, Pamela, of Highridge, Missouri, Jim L. Simpson and his wife, Brenda, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Russell Dean Simpson and his wife, Teresa, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Dale Allen Simpson of Mountain Grove, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Julie Knuckles and her husband, Wilbur, Janelle Pierson and her husband, Jack, Marlena Homer and her husband, Davy, Doug Simpson, Brent Simpson, Sarah Forrest and her husband, Shane, Shyla Simpson, and Kaleb Simpson; nine great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Josiah, Ellie, Alayna, Layla, Skylar, Dyson, Donovan, and Bryar; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
