Vivian Rose Fitzenrider was born August 8, 2016 in Houston, Missouri, and passed away August 28, 2019, near her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She had just celebrated her 3rd birthday.
Vivian enjoyed being outside, whether she was at the park picking flowers, petting a neighbor’s dog, taking a walk with her family, or swimming. She was never ready to come inside.
She liked to be “pretty” and make sure that her daddy noticed. Every morning, after she got dressed and we fixed her hair, she would go show Russ, making sure to point out the parts of her outfit that she wanted him to notice. She was especially proud of her pig-tails, which she referred to as “pretty tails”. She loved to have her nails painted and if markers or crayons were within her reach, she would color her fingernails herself.
She was a “Shoe Girl”. She would ask for shoes at Wal-Mart like most kids would ask for a toy. It was always her favorite gift for any occasion. Her face would light up with each new pair.
Vivian loved people. One of the highlights of her week was Friday night game night when we had friends over. She spent most of the evening making her rounds around the table, asking for as many chips and cookies as she could convince them to give her. She liked to sit on as many laps as she could or sit on their shoulders as they stood around talking. When it was her bedtime, she went around the table and gave each of them a hug before bed, being sure to skip one of them so that she had an excuse to go back around the table one more time. She liked getting into her siblings “stuff” and instigating aggravation while at the same time, giving big hugs and making them laugh.
Vivian was preceded in death by her biological mother, Rachel Masters.
She is survived by her parents, Russ and Rachel Fitzenrider, her siblings, Alex, Isaac, Olivia, Ian, and Lucy Fitzenrider, all of Mountain Grove, her grandparents, Kenny and Marge Fitzenrider of Montpelier, Ohio, Sandra Freeman of Bryan, Ohio, Allan and Toni Young of Raleigh, Illinois, Luke and Lisa Masters of Hollister, Missouri, and Kathy Cable of Mountain Grove, Missouri, her great-grandparents, Bob and Pat Matzenbacher of Okawville, Illinois, her biological father, Anthony Cook of Mountain Grove, Missouri, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who will dearly miss her sweet spirit.
