Violet Lucille (Blaine) Todd was born to Albert and Margaret (Lindsey) Blaine on February 16, 1918 near Competition, Mo. She departed this life December 11, 2014 at John Knox Care Center in Lees Summit, Mo., at the age of 96.
She spent most of her childhood in Oklahoma where her Father was employed. Her family moved back to Missouri near Competition. She was married to Raymond George Todd of Manes. One Child was born to this union, Arthur Allen Todd. Raymond, Violet and Allen moved to the state of Washington in 1936 where Violet was manager of a diner/caf. She made all their pies and that was always one of her specialties. They moved back to Missouri in 1954. She worked at Fort Leonard Wood as a Civil Servant for approximately 20 years. But her real love was buying and selling antiques. She maintained several booths in antique malls, and was always generous in sharing those antiques with her family.
She had five brothers and two sisters who preceded her in death: Clarence Blaine, Lorraine Blaine, Darrell Blaine, Dale Blaine, Stanley Blaine, Chloe Blaine Beard, and Juanita Blaine.
Her husband Raymond Todd preceded her in death. She is survived by her son: Arthur Allen Todd and wife, Lavonia of Lees Summit, MO. Two grandchildren: Vicki (Todd) Axe and husband Greg of Shawnee, Ks, Troy Todd and wife Lana of Oak Grove, Mo. Five Great Grandchildren, Maria Slotemaker and husband Neil of Chicago, IL., Jeffrey Todd Axe of Kansas City, Kansas, Lindsy Todd, Tanner Todd and Lila Todd of Oak Grove, Mo. Two great- great-grandchildren: Alexit Slotemaker and Kelson Slotemaker of Chicago, IL.
Violet was a very loving and generous person. She spent a lot of time in church in her childhood, but rededicated her life to Christ as an adult on June 15, 1958, followed by baptism. She loved her family dearly and even as her memory was fading her eyes would light up like Christmas lights when she saw one of the kids. She will be greatly missed by her family.
