Thomas Edward "Tom" Fisk, son of Charles and Alma (Couch) Fisk, was born on September 30, 1937 in Venice, Illinois and passed away on June 28, 2012 at his residence near Norwood, Missouri with his loving wife at his side. He was 74 years, 8 months and 28 days of age.
In his early years, Tom lived with his family in Illinois. They later moved to Missouri where he attended school in Poplar Bluff and Eminence.
Tom was united in marriage to Thelma Helums on December 12, 1958 in Farmersville, California. This union was blessed with a son, Kevin, and a daughter, Melissa.
Tom faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a survivor of the Vietnam Conflict and earned many awards while serving. Tom retired following 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant in 1975.
In 1975, Tom and Thelma purchased a farm located southwest of Norwood and have made it their home for the past 37 years. Tom was a dedicated gentleman who spent his entire life serving others whether in the military, as deputy sheriff, policeman or as an investigator for Wright County. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Norwood School District for 9 years.
Tom enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting earlier in his life. He loved taking care of his vegetable and flower gardens each year. Tom was a people person who never met a stranger and always had a kind word for those around him. He was also known as an awesome cook and an accomplished wood craftsman. He also enjoyed singing. Tom was a Christian man and enjoyed attending the Ashley ‘Cowboy’ Church at Macomb as long as he was able. Tom was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather or ‘PaPa’, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Thelma Fisk of the home; son: Kevin Fisk and wife, Sherry of Norwood; daughter: Melissa Fisk-Wolfe and husband, Eric of Mtn. Grove; three grandchildren: Taylor Fisk, Anna Fisk, and Garrett Wolfe; mother: Alma Sullivan of Hiawatha, Kansas; three brothers: Sonny Fisk and wife, Peggy of Granite City, Illinois, Bo Fisk and wife, Marge of Granite City, Illinois, and Bill Fisk of Pittsburgh, Missouri; two sisters: Ruth Swain and husband, John of Williamston, North Carolina and Susie Sullivan and husband, Bill of Hiawatha, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
