Theodore Reginald Pete Liska, 76, son of the late George and Emma Kathryn (Skelton) Liska, was born April 20, 1938 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Jordan Creek Nursing and Rehab Facility in Springfield, Missouri.
Pete was saved and baptized at an early age. He worked as a driver for Coca-Cola and Colonial Breads in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and The Carr Shade factory in Springfield, Missouri. Pete retired from Mid-Am Dairy in Cabool, Missouri after working there for twenty-three years and, at the same time, working on the family farm.
Pete married Sue Wrinkles in 1957. Three children were born to this union: Susan Elaine, Mona, and Jeff.
In 1971, Pete married JoAnn Foley. JoAnn had two children: Debbie and Doug. Together they made their home on the Liska farm in Mountain Grove.
His family could always see him doing what he loved: working on the farm. He greatly enjoyed his family coming to visit, especially the grandchildren. Pete worked very hard all of his life to support his family.
Pete was a gentleman whose genuine smile, sense of humor, and caring personality allowed him to make friends easily; he never knew a stranger.
Besides his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife: JoAnn (Foley) Liska.
He is survived by his children: Jeff Liska and wife, Misti, of Mountain Grove, Susan Elaine Ward of Strafford, Missouri, Mona Gail Cooper and husband, Kevin, of Springfield, Missouri, Doug Foley and wife, Kelly, of Strafford, Missouri, and Debbie Lawson and husband, Mark, of Strafford, Missouri; one brother James Liska and wife, Betty, of Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many other friends and family who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank Jordan Creek and Preferred Hospice for the support and care they provided for Pete.
