Tamara Kay Shane, daughter of Ted and Elsie (Babb) Yates, was born January 12, 1959 in Montrose, Colorado and departed this life February 24, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri. She was 58 years, 1 month, and 12 days of age.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Shane of Hartville, Missouri, one son, Joseph Shane and wife, Kelley, of Olathe, Colorado, three daughters, Gail Waggoner of Montrose, Colorado, Brandy Iversen and husband, Matt, of Ridgway, Colorado, and Jenifer Classi and husband, Dominic, of Montrose, Colorado, her mother, Elsie Yates of Nucla, Colorado, one brother, Rob Yates of Nucla, Colorado, her twin sister, Pam Hughes and husband, Steve, of Montrose, Colorado, fourteen grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Anthony, Brittany, and Alyssa Classi, Hannah, Maizey, and Porter Waggoner, Tamara, Aubrey, and Levi Iversen, and Emily, Hailey, and Shawna Shane, and three great-grandchildren.
Tamara grew up and attended school in Ridgway, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Joseph Shane on March 23, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Ridgway where they raised their four children. Tamara and Joe worked for the J Bar M Ranch where she enjoyed being the event coordinator for all ranch guests and business outings and captured the ranchs beauty through decorating the ranch homes. She was a dedicated caregiver to John H. McConnell, a dear friend and ranch owner.
Tamara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a kindhearted soul who always looked for ways to help her family, neighbors, and friends. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known to them as Gee.
Tamara enjoyed serving on the Ridgway School Board. She was a life member of the Ouray Cattlemens Association and served as President of the Montrose County Cattlewomens Association.
Tamara will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
