Steven Carrel Smythe

Steven Carrel Smythe, son of the late Carrel Smythe and Trella June (Martin) Ellis, was born November 12, 1959, in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away June 26, 2022, at his home in Fordland, Missouri. He was 62 years, 7 months, and 16 days of age.

Steve grew up in the Fordland area and graduated from Fordland High School. He went to work at the Steel Plant in Marshfield, Missouri, until they had a lay-off. He hauled hay and worked some at the Orchard in Seymour, Missouri.

Steve enjoyed being in the country and working cattle on his farm. He loved being outdoors hunting wild game and searching for mushrooms. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles or just driving his truck on back roads.

Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Carol Smythe.

He is survived by three brothers, Gary Smythe, Mike Smythe, and Doug Smythe, two sisters, Colleen Adams and her husband, Earl, and Cheryl Ellis and her husband, Alvin, and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
