Stephen 'Otto' Massey

Stephen Otto Massey, son of the late George Massey and Betty Jane (Carriker) Massey-Alvarez was born on October 6, 1953 in Tucson, Arizona and departed this life on April 27, 2015 in Douglas County, Missouri. He was 61 years, 6 months, and 21 days of age.
Otto grew up in Joshua Tree, California and graduated high school in 1971. He was united in marriage to Debra Curtis on April 20, 1978 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. One daughter, April, was born to this union.
Otto worked at Man-Steel and Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield, Missouri and also for the Mountain Grove Township.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially bow hunting. He loved hunting deer, turkey and hunting for arrowheads and mushrooms. Otto also enjoyed playing the guitar.
Besides his parents, Otto was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronald Massey and Donald Massey; his grandparents: Otto and Bessie Keller; and cousin: Sherdian Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; one daughter: April Mayberry and her husband, Brandon, of Elk Creek, Missouri; one brother: Terry Massey of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters: Joanee Barlett and her husband, Randy, of Macomb, Missouri, and Jeanee Alvarez of Norwood, Missouri; two grandchildren: Emily Mayberry and Colt Mayberry; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Visitation: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Home Church
South Hwy 95 in Douglas County.

Burial: Pleasant Home Cemetery
