Stephen Comerford

Stephen “Steve” Gerald Comerford, son of the late Stephen Gerald and May (Hellier) Comerford, was born August 13, 1940 in London, England and passed away at his home in Norwood, Missouri on September 26, 2012. He was 72 years, 1 month, and 14 days of age.

Steve grew up and graduated from high school in London, England. He attended the Brixton School of Building and was a residential and commercial building contractor for several years. He also had a strong love of music and had been a musician since the age of 15.

Steve married Jan Brown on December 18, 1966 in Bromley Kent, England. Five children were born to this union. Steve and Jan moved to Florida in 1990 and then moved to Norwood in 2000. Steve built the Northwood Valley Restaurant and Dance Hall in Norwood due to his passion and love of music and his fellow musicians.

Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by one brother: Michael Comerford.

He is survived by his loving wife of their home: Janice “Jan” Comerford; two sons: Paul Comerford of London, England and Sean Comerford of Melbourne, Florida; three daughters: Lorrain Fitzgerald of Kent, England, Victoria Comerford of Norwood, and Rebecca Comerford of Plymouth, England; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
