Sosamma Varghese

Sosamma Varghese, age 79 of Mountain Grove, Missouri, went to her heavenly home on January 19, 2010. She was born on September 28, 1930 to T.C. and Aleyamma Cherian in Kerala, South India, the youngest of five children.
She went to nursing school in India and later worked as a nurse at an all boys primary school in Kuwait.
Sosamma was married to K.V. Varghese on April 12, 1960, and enjoyed nearly thirty years together until her husband’s death on March 12, 1989. They moved from Kuwait to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1979, where Sosamma continued to live until 2008 when she moved to Missouri.
A long standing member of the Assemblies of God, she always enjoyed attending church services and functions. She will long be remembered as a person of deep faith and prayer.
In her later years, she loved to read and correspond with many friends and family from all over the world.
Sosamma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four siblings.
Survivors include her four children: Elizabeth Thomas (Alexander) of Germantown, Wisconsin, Susan Thomas (Thomas Kurian) of Germantown Wisconsin, George Varghese (Joy) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Mary Thomas (Jensen) of Jacksonville, Florida; her five grandchildren: Ashley Thomas, Kaitlyn Varghese, Krystle Thomas, Matthew and Michael Thomas; many extended family members and a host of dearly loved friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


Funeral Service:
Tuesday, January 26th at 2:00 PM in the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin under the direction of the Church and Chapel Funeral Home. Local arragements under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
Visitation:
Tuesday, January 26th from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM before the service at the church.
