Shirley Ann Morgan, daughter of the late Marshall and Eugenie (Thery) Frey, was born March 31, 1935, in Wilsonville, Illinois, and departed this life February 11, 2019, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 83 years of age.
Shirley married Henry Morgan on November 14, 1951, in Paragould, Arkansas. They were married for 65 years, until Henry’s passing. Five children were born to this union.
Shirley was a housewife and worked for Standard Mutual and Horace Mann Insurance companies during the years of their marriage.
She enjoyed raising and racing Standardbred horses and raising and showing purebred dogs with Henry. She was a Girl Scout leader. She also liked to fish and camp and spend time with her family. In her spare time, she taught herself to paint, sew, garden, and do ceramic and porcelain work. Her true love was cooking and making tinctures.
Besides her parents and her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Bruhn, four brothers-in-law, Harry, Charles, Lewellen, and James, three sisters-in-law, Irene, Louis, and an infant sister, and one grandson Jason Slightom.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce Morgan and his wife, Bev, of Glendale Heights, Illinois, Mark Morgan and his wife, Venus, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Chris Morgan and his wife, Karen, of Girard, Illinois, two daughters, Sherrie Theel of Girard, Illinois, Michele Wilkinson and her husband, John, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss her greatly.
