Shirley Jean Pridemore

December 11, 1943 — January 7, 2015

Shirley Jean Pridemore, daughter of the late Elmer Lee and Mildred (Curtright) Cannon, was born on December 11, 1943 in Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life on January 7, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was 71 years and 27 days of age.

Shirley was united in marriage to Jerry L. Pridemore on September 29, 1963 in Hartville, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Jerry Jr., Michelle, and Tracy.

Shirley worked for Springfield public schools for over 35 years, where she enjoyed working with special needs kids. She was a charter member of Heritage Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and was a devoted member while her health permitted.

Shirleys life was centered around her kids, grandkids, and family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and gardening, but her family was her favorite hobby.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her two sisters: Bonnie Lakey and Wanda Cannon.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 51 years: Jerry Pridemore of the home; one son: Jerry L. Pridemore Jr., and his wife, Kim, of Ballwin, Missouri; two daughters: Michelle Rose and her husband, Danny, of Walnut Grove, Missouri, and Tracy Wilson and her husband, Greg, of Cave City, Arkansas; one brother: Richard Cannon and his wife, Goldie, of Buffalo, Missouri; five grandchildren: Brett Rose, Paige Pridemore, Ava Wilson, Eric Wilson, and Lea Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, in Springfield, Missouri.

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Curtis Cemetery, Norwood, Missouri.

Memorial Contributions: Camp Barnabas or Donor's Choice c/o the funeral home.
