Shirley Fern (Rader) Simmons

Shirley Fern Simmons, daughter of the late Albert and Tillie (Collins) Rader, was born on December 8, 1936 in Williford, Arkansas, and departed this life on January 6, 2013 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following an extended illness. She was 76 years, and 28 days of age.

Shirley grew up and attended school in Arkansas and moved to Missouri several years ago. She and her companion of several years, Dennis L. Burch, lived in Douglas County, Missouri, before moving to Mtn. Grove when their health started failing. They lived on Hovis Street in Mtn. Grove for a while and at the time of her passing Shirley was a resident of Autumn Oaks Caring Center. At the time of Dennis’ passing on October 31, 2012, he was living on Dorris Street. He and Shirley had made their home there for a few years.

Shirley enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flowers. She also liked to fish whenever she got a chance.

Shirley is survived by her friends and neighbors: Tom and Bunny Brown of Mtn. Grove; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will miss her very much.
