Shirley Ann Yeager

Shirley Ann Yeager, daughter of the late John Yeager and Bercha (Robson) Yeager was born January 14, 1940, in their home in the Coon Creek community and departed this life on August 16, 2022 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 82 years, 7 months, and 2 days of age.

Shirley was a faithful and long-time member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Mountain Grove. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and her role as Sunday School Secretary.
Throughout her life, Shirley was a homemaker, waitress, and a caregiver to many people including her own parents. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery and making beautiful pillowcases. She loved music including singing and playing the piano. She also had a love for reading and collecting recipes. Shirley truly loved people and never met a stranger. She also loved Jesus and was happy to share that love with others. Spending time with family, participating in their activities and going to ballgames was a highlight in her life. The past few years, while at Autumn Oaks, she developed many close friendships with many employees and those who spent hours coming in to visit, sing, and share their love for God. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and other activities at Autumn Oaks Caring Center until her health started failing.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Terry Conley, one grandson, Benjamen Schwertfeger, and her brother-in-law, Leroy Housley.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Fay Housley, her daughter, Janet Schwertfeger and her husband, Mark, one son, Sherry (Wesley) Conley, one grandson, John Mark Schwertfeger and his wife, Shonda, her granddaughter, Liz Dowden and her husband, Caleb and four great-grandchildren, Santana Schwertfeger, Jace Schwertfeger, Oakley Dowden, and Cooper Dowden, one nephew, John Housley, and many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
