Sherry Fay Bullard, daughter of the late Morris and Dorothy (Fleetwood) Short, was born January 14, 1948, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life January 9, 2025, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, at 76 years of age.
Sherry grew up and attended school in the Mansfield area, and she graduated from Mansfield High School with the class of 1966. Sherry and her family moved to Rogersville, Missouri, in 1974, where she raised her children and grandchildren and where she lived for the majority of her adult life.
Sherry was a life-long public servant. She most enjoyed her job serving the community of Rogersville as the City Clerk and City Administrator. After retirement, she worked part-time at McDonalds in Rogersville. She always enjoyed visiting with her customers as she continued serving her community in a new capacity. Sherry and her sister, Shirley, also took great pride in selflessly taking care of their mother in the final years of her life.
Sherry had a love for the outdoors, and she enjoyed going camping with her children. She also loved working in her beautiful yard, gardening, and canning the produce from her garden. One of Sherry’s favorite hobbies was crocheting, and she has made countless holiday potholders and blankets for her family. Some of her other hobbies include decorating for holidays, reading, working puzzles, visiting with friends, and playing bingo.
Sherry was a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed making fresh home-cooked meals for her family and friends. She was especially known for her fried chicken, her special jack-o’-lantern cheeseburgers at Halloween time, and her glass candy at Christmas time.
She constantly worried about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and always wanted the best for them. She loved her family unconditionally and loved spending time with them. Sherry was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, Nana, Gigi, aunt, and friend, and she will be deeply missed.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Dorothy Short, one grandson, Coleman Miles, her friend, John Weiss, and her niece, Patricia Ivy.
She is survived by her three children, Michelle Miles and her husband, Wade, of Ava, Missouri, Steven Bullard and his wife, DeeDee, of Price, Utah, and Mandi Yeiser and her husband, Dan, of Rogersville, Missouri, one sister, Shirley Davis of Mansfield, Missouri, four nephews, Carl Ivy and his wife, Jennifer, Randy Ivy, Russell Ivy, and Jeff Ivy and his wife, Christine, ten grandchildren, John Yeiser and his wife, Sara, Marissa Gaytan and her husband, Peter, Courtnee Smith, Danisha Yeiser, Caleb Miles and his wife, Deevala, Austin Snyder, Steven “Bubba” Bullard and his wife, Myra, Devin Yeiser, Billy Leverton and his wife, Erin, and Colby Miles and his wife, Taylor, six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Yeiser, Steven Reed Bullard, Ira Danielle Bullard, Mack Miles, Weston Patrick Leverton, and Kohyn Miles arriving in February, as well as many other extended family and friends who will miss her.
