Shelly Denice Prock, daughter of Robert Edward and Alberta (Atwater) Gourley, was born on December 27, 1964 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and passed away on January 13, 2008 in the Cox Medical center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 43 years and 17 days of age.
Shelly grew up in Mtn. Grove and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1983. She was united in marriage to Terry Prock on February 3, 1984 in the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove. Two children were born to this union.
She worked for Brown Shoe Company for ten years and later received a degree from Southwest Baptist University and was employed by the Division of Family Services as a Family Preservation Specialist, which she enjoyed very much.
Shelly also enjoyed watching the food network, cooking, and trying out new recipes. She liked to travel, play bingo, and visit with her many friends.
She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father: Robert Gourley; and by an infant brother: Robert George Gourley.
She is survived by her husband: Terry Prock of their home; her son: Aaron Robert Prock; her daughter: Olivia Ciara Prock, all of Mtn. Grove; her mother: Alberta Gourley of West Plains, Missouri; one sister: Debra Collins and her husband, Donald of West Plains, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Shelly Prock were held Friday, January 18, 2008, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Jerry Ratterree officiating. Jerry and Irene Ratterree sang “Amazing Grace.” “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was also played. Pallbearers were Jeff Forrest, Jason Forrest, Michael Carrol, Floyd Prock, Ronald Prock, and Donald Collins. Burial was in the Shaddy Cemetery, Grovespring, under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
