Sharon Elizabeth (Jones) Welker, daughter of R.D. Jones and Ruby Estelle (Heywood) Jones, was born October 31, 1958, in Dos Palos, California, and departed this life April 30, 2024, at her home in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 29 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gracie Walker and Linda Pollet; sister-in-law, Liz Jones; and other relatives.

Sharon is survived by two sons, Daniel Soares and wife, Barbara, of Pingree Grove, Illinois, and David Soares and wife, Rebecca, of Deering, North Dakota; daughter, Nicole Blasi and husband, Chris, of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sadie Blasi, Bailey Blasi, Tyauna Soares, Taylor Soares, and Ashley Bock; four brothers, Tom Jones, Bill Jones and wife, Trice, Johnny Jones and Sara, all of Mansfield, Missouri, Paul Jones and wife, Kristie, of Texas; three sisters, Kay Sanderson and husband, Gary, of Buffalo, Missouri, Barbara Jones of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Vicky Stevens and husband, Jeff, of Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was born in California and at the age of seven, moved with her family to Mansfield, Missouri, where she attended school until her sophomore year.  She and her sister, Barbara, moved back to California to help take care of their grandmother, Grace Thompson “Grandma Goose”.   Sharon graduated from Hilmar High School in 1976.

She was united in marriage on October 28, 1978, and to this union three children were born.   Sharon and her three children moved back to Mansfield, in 1986, to be with her family.  She had worked for Mary Kay Sales, in nursing care and customer service for Walmart.

In her spare time, she loved being outdoors which included working in her flower gardens, yard work, fishing, floating the river with family and friends, and listening to Blake Shelton.

Sharon never knew a stranger.  She was most known for her kind heart and personality, calling people “Babe”, “Hun”, and “Sweetheart”, as well as her love for makeup, jewelry, and clothes.

She always had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her love for her dog, Maggie, and her three cats, Brutus, Princess, and Blackie.

Sharon was a fighter who had many strokes, aneurysm surgery, a heart condition, and fibromyalgia, but we know she is now resting with the grace of God with no suffering or pain.

She was very proud of her family, and it was very important to her to spend time with her kids and grandkids.  Sharon was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and loved by many.  We celebrate her life and will always remember the special times we had together.  She will be deeply missed by her family and many loved ones.
