Sharon Vlay Stewart, daughter of John and Alma Booher, was born on April 10th, 1939, in Shirleysburg, Pennsylvania. She was reunited with her late husband in the kingdom of heaven on September 19th, 2021, at her daughter’s home near Kasilof, Alaska, at the age of eighty-two years and five months.
Sharon was born and raised in Pennsylvania. After completing college and earning her BSN, she began her forty plus year career in nursing at a Pennsylvania state hospital. There she met the young Ronald Merle Stewart, an orderly at the hospital and unbeknownst to her, her lifelong love.
The two were united in holy matrimony on August 5th, 1962, and from this union one son and three daughters were born. The young couple raised their family with Christ as their cornerstone and love their foundation.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Ronald Merle Stewart, her parents, John and Alma Booher, and her sister, Dee Donaldson.
Sister Sharon is survived by two brothers, Darrell Booher and Donald Booher, four children, Gene Ronald Stewart Sr. and wife, Joanne, of Wyoming, Shawne Undercoffer of Springfield, Missouri, Darla VancKleeck and husband, Jeff, of Hartville, Missouri, and Suzee Milbauer and husband, Roy, of Kasilof, Alaska, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other dear family, church family and friends.
A humble servant of the Lord and a dedicated and loving pastor’s wife, mother, sister and aunt. Sister Sharon loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, gardening, watching her hummingbirds, crafting, and reading her Bible. She leaves behind a legacy of love, patience and compassion that will go unmatched for years to come. She will be so greatly missed by so many, but we can take comfort in the truth that, through Christ our savior, we will one day meet again. We can simply smile every time we see a hummingbird until then.
