Saundra Kaye Hicks

Saundra Kaye Hicks, daughter of Orville and Wilma C. (Delcour) Mabe, was born on May 26, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and passed away on January 14, 2008 at her residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 54 years, 7 months, and 19 days of age.
Saundra grew up and attended school in Manes, Missouri. In her younger years she enjoyed being a childcare giver and also caring for children when she lived in Springfield, Missouri. She was employed as a waitress in Oklahoma for a while. She enjoyed cooking, listening to country music, and dancing.
Saundra was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family very much and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: Orville Mabe.
Survivors include, her son: Michael Smith of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two grandchildren: Kaela Mariah and Taeler Autumn Smith; a step-grandson: Austin Moore; her mother: Wilma C. Mabe of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; her fiance’: Ken Parsley; one brother: Mike Mabe of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; a half-brother: David Johnson of Chanute, Kansas; two sisters: Rhonda Metty and Shirley Davis, both of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Saundra Hicks were held Friday, January 18, 2008, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Frank McCune officiating. Song selections were “Serenaded By Angels,” “Look What I’m Trading For A Mansion.” “In The Arms Of Angels.” Pallbearers were Terry Delcour, Jonathan Dugger, Rick Mabe, Lyndell Metty, Faron Cogdill, and Lee Brown. Burial was in the New Home Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
