Sandra Kay Crites, daughter of the late Wilbur Dean Sherwood and Norma Mae (Hatfield) Sherwood, was born August 9, 1948, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and departed this life on September 4, 2015. She was 67 years of age.
Sandra grew up and attended school in Excelsior Springs. Following high school, she went to college and graduated with a Bachelors Degree.
Sandra was united in marriage to Darrell Crites on February 25, 1978, in Mosby, Missouri. They made their home in the Mountain Grove area.
Sandra was a great homemaker who enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, and growing flower and vegetable gardens. She was also a very accurate shot with a gun. She loved teaching Sunday School at church. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing are three sons: Michael Piburn and his wife, Linda, of Mtn. Grove, James Piburn and his wife, Tammy, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Darrell D.J. Crites II and his wife, Missy, of Mtn. Grove; two daughters: Christina Wells and her husband, Jackie, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Katie Hickcox and her husband, Ben, of Bucyrus, Missouri; two brothers: Darrell Sherwood and Dennis Sherwood; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Graveside Funeral Service: Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Elk Creek Cemetery, West Plains, Missouri
