Sandie Yarger

Sandra Kay (Spencer) Yarger was born March 21, 1951, to Theodore and Mildred (Melton) Spencer, and departed this life September 20, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. She was 72 years, 5 months, and 30 days of age.

Sandie attended school in Seymour, Missouri, and she graduated from Central High School in Springfield, Missouri. She worked “slingin’ hash” in a café for most of her working career. She also volunteered at Kings Food Pantry and the YMCA in Seymour. Sandie loved Jesus and one of her favorite Bible verses was Philippians 4:13.

Sandie especially loved and pampered her beloved dog, Betsy Yarger. Her hobbies included writing poetry, browsing Facebook, and watching crime shows, especially CSI, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. She also enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and yard sales. Sandie liked listening to old country music, and she absolutely loved Elvis Presley.

Sandie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Yarger, one son, Jason Yarger, three daughters, Donna (Yarger) West, Renee (Yarger) Pojar, and Rhonda Yarger, her parents, Ted and Millie Spencer, and her best friends, Velma Cummins and Wilda Helms.

She is survived by one son, Shawn Yarger, three daughters, Lisa Lester, Joyce Yarger, and Gini Rueter, three brothers, Michael Spencer, Steven Spencer, and David Spencer, her many blessings that are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her Elect Home Care family, and many other extended family and friends who will miss her.
