Ruth Lee Prock

Ruth Lee (Sowersby) Prock, daughter of the late Lewis and Minnie (Leighty) Sowersby, was born December 10, 1930, in Huggins, Missouri, and passed away December 7, 2020, at Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was 89 years, 11 months, and 28 days of age.

Ruth grew up in the Huggins area and attended Alice School, a little rural one-room schoolhouse. She married Farris Newton Prock on December 4, 1959. They lived in Manes, Missouri, for a while until moving to Lynchburg, Missouri. Farris passed away December 23, 1995. After Farris’ passing, Ruth later moved to Springfield, Missouri, where she resided until her passing.

Ruth enjoyed cake decorating and making quilts.

Besides her parents and her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by one brother, George Dean Sowersby, and by an infant sister.

She is survived by one sister, Mable Mahon of Fort Worth, Texas, eight nephews, one niece, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
