Russell Robertson

Russell Edward Robertson, son of the late Jesse and Dora (Jordan) Robertson, was born June 19, 1939, in Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life March 24, 2025, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Russell grew up in the Durbin, Missouri, area and attended Durbin School and also Hartville High School. He was united in marriage to Dorthy Ann Carriger on February 6, 1960, and five children were born to this union: DeLynn, Kevin, Belinda, Brian, and Justin. Russell worked in factories and farms throughout his working career. He was also a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

He was a horse trader by nature and loved to swap anything he could, especially horses and guns. Russell had a green thumb and could grow anything. He took pride in keeping a wonderful garden and landscaping around his house. He also loved to fish and deer hunt. Russell never knew a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone he came across. He also had the gift of being a wonderful storyteller.

Russell and Dorthy were a shining example of true love, and they were never afraid to show their affection for each other. Their kids grew up watching their dad always kissing their mom and "I love you's" flowed freely. Russell loved his family dearly. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, and it usually involved doing something that mom wasn't supposed to find out about.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Dora Robertson, two sisters, Ila Robertson and Bessie Boettcher, and one infant brother.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorthy Robertson, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, his five children, DeLynn Shaver and husband, Bruce, of Grovespring, Missouri, Kevin Robertson and wife, Mary, of Rogersville, Missouri, Belinda Strunk and husband, Ron, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Brian Robertson and wife, Tanya, of Hartville, Missouri, and Justin Robertson and wife, Billie, of Fredericktown, Missouri, a special son-in-law, Kenny Williams, 14 grandchildren, Kristy and Allen Jordan, Kelby and Natasha Shaver, Kara and Clint Williamson, Savanna Robertson, Anica Lofton, Nathan Williams, Megan and Blaid Cantrell, Ericka and Zachary Robertson, Shelbie and Josh England, Riley and Maci Robertson, Brianna and Bud Goforth, and Brooke, Dalton, and Lane.
