Ruby Louise Hopkins

Ruby Louise Hopkins, daughter of the late Sterling and Freeda (Bowler) Creed was born on November 16, 1923 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, following a long illness. She was 84 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age.Ruby grew up in Mtn. Grove and was united in marriage to Chester Loran Hopkins on November 1, 1943 in Wright County, Missouri. Two daughters were born to this union. Chester passed away on January 26, 1975.Ruby was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister and friend. The time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was precious to her. She had the heart of a giver and looked for any opportunity to help others. She also enjoyed visiting with her many friends and those around her. She was employed for Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove for over twenty-five years. She had attended the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Lorna and Lonnie Moore and Sharon and Duane Duke, all of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: John Creed and his wife, Shirley, of Mtn. Grove and Ivan Creed of Farmington, Missouri; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.

Saturday, July 12, 2008, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Friday, July 11, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
