Ruby Lemons, daughter of the late Lester and Vada (Broughton) Cantrell, was born September 26, 1929 in Hartville, Missouri, and passed away March 6, 2017 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 87 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age.
Ruby grew up in the Wright County area and married Ancel Shorty Lemons. Ruby always enjoyed helping people. She was known as Aunt Ruby to many. She loved being with her family, cooking holiday meals, and attending her grandkids birthday parties. Ruby attended Pleasant Hill church for many years. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove and retired after 43 years. As she grew older, Ruby enjoyed peaceful times sitting in her rocking chair.
Besides her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel, and by two brothers, Clarel and Lester Cantrell.
She is survived by her son, CJ Hensley and his wife, Angel, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two grandsons, Brayden and Dayden of Mountain Grove, Missouri, four brothers, Bill Hensley of Valley, Alabama, Ronnie Hensley of Cottleville, Missouri, Dick Hensley of Ferris, Texas, and Tommy. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
