Ruby 'Darlene' Bartley

Ruby Darlene Bartley, daughter of the late Marshall and Elizabeth (Calhoun) Simons, was born April 17, 1934 in Norwood, Missouri, and departed this life January 4, 2017 at 82 years of age.

Darlene was raised in the Norwood area and graduated from Norwood High School in 1952. She married Roland Bartley on December 20, 1951. One son, Ronnie, was born to this union.

Darlene was saved and baptized as a young girl.

Darlene and Roland lived in several places while he served in the United States Army. They ran a service station at Macomb for a few years before moving to the farm where they currently live. Darlene operated the license bureau in Mansfield, Missouri, for six years. Later, she and Roland started the Bartley Insurance Agency and operated it for forty years.

Darlene was an excellent cook and greatly enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holidays and for special occasions. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers and sewing. She loved taking long drives on Sunday afternoons and enjoyed going out for Chinese food.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roland, her son, Ronnie Bartley and his wife, Donna, of Carthage, Missouri, one brother, Donnie Simons and his wife, Liz, of Billings, Missouri, a close family friend, Larry Pierson, and other neighbors and friends who will miss her greatly.
