Roy Bennett, son of the late Charles Edward and Lola Mae (Adamson) Bennett, was born on October 6, 1915 along with his twin brother, Ray, in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this world on August 30, 2007 at his home in Macomb, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 24 days, with his loving family around him.
Roy was united in holy matrimony to Golda Lorene Raney on July 30, 1941 in Macomb, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Roy Eugene, Velma Maxine, and Paula Faye.
Roy accepted Christ as his Savior in the summer of 1954 and joined the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb. He worked twenty-one years at Toblin-Hamilton Shoe Company in Mansfield, Missouri and retired in 1978. He had worked for the Frisco Railroad and for area farmers prior to that. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother: Ray; and by two sisters: Retha Jane Bennett and Lily Mae Calhoun.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife: Golda Lorene Bennett, of their home; two daughters: Velma Maxine Bennett and Paula Faye Bennett, both of Macomb, Missouri; one son: Roy Eugene Bennett and his wife, Karen, of Macomb, Missouri; four grandchildren: Jeana Booth and her husband, John, of Clinton, Missouri, Clifton Bennett and his wife, Marie, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Jeffrey Bennett and his wife, Gina, of Holt, Missouri, and Lorenda Stanley and her husband, Brian, of Norwood, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren: Travis Bennett, T.J. Bennett, Trevor Bennett, Derek Bennett, Ashley Kirtwright, Amanda Howard, Paige Bennett, Broc Bennett, and Lucas Bennett; one great-great-grandson: Ethan Howard; and host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
