Ronnie Clayton, age 60, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed on to his heavenly home on June 27, 2017. He fought a long and courageous battle with muscular dystrophy, COPD, CHF, and diabetes.
Ronnie was born August 17, 1956 in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Mountain Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1974. He attended Midwest Mechanical Institute and later worked for Hallmark and John Deere until becoming disabled after an accident.
Ronnie enjoyed working on cars, going to races, farming, and visiting with friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hillis Clayton, and two brothers, Harlin and Dee Clayton.
Ronnie is survived by his mother, Lora Clayton, two sisters, Connie Stevenson and husband, Dale, and Cathy Goodman and husband, Jeff, a sister-in-law, Donna Clayton, two aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Though Ronnie had no children, his niece, Nikki Goodman Caswell, was loved like his own and they shared many special memories. His cabin, beloved dog, Sadie, and ’55 Chevy were his earthly treasures.
He accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was a teenager, then life’s temptations and trials led him astray for several years. When facing open heart surgery in 1999, he surrendered all to God and rededicated his life to the Lord. He loved to share his faith with everyone who came into his path. His dedication to God and family will be missed. Despite his suffering on earth, victory has finally come!
