Ronnie Jones Dobbs, son of the late Dee and Sylvia (Willhite) Dobbs, was born September 21, 1938 in Coweta, Oklahoma, and departed this life December 11, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri. He was 78 years, 2 months, and 21 days of age.
Ronnie grew up in Sperry, Oklahoma and graduated from Sperry High School. He then attended Northeast Oklahoma Technical College for two years. He joined the United States Army where he served at a Niki Missile Base. While in the service he met Ruth Ann Grohmann. They were united in marriage on April 25, 1964. Nine children were born to this union: Val, Annette, Melissa, George, Ronie, Rachel, Jeff, Lester, and Bubba. In 1986 they moved from Red Bud, Illinois to the Mountain Grove, Missouri area.
Ronnie spent most of his life logging and running a sawmill where all his children helped and were taught the value of hard work. He enjoyed coon hunting, talking on the CB radio, and going to tractor pulls. His CB handle was Lumberman. He enjoyed going to Branson for the annual CB Break where he met numerous people from all over the United States. He also enjoyed rock hunting. He made annual trips out west to meet friends to hunt for petrified wood and agatized rocks. Ronnie was a great neighbor and friend. He was always very willing to help anyone. All anyone had to do was just call and ask.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild: Gabby Towell; two brothers: Eldridge Wolf, and Bennie Joe Dobbs.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Dobbs, of the home; four sons: George Dobbs and wife, Sandi, of Red Bud, Illinois, Jeff Dobbs and wife, Amy, of Lebanon, Missouri, Lester Dobbs and wife, Sara, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Bubba Dobbs and wife, Amity, of Manes, Missouri; five daughters: Val Sirdoreus and husband, Dwane, of Bucyrus, Missouri, Annette Towell of Manes, Missouri, Melissa Dobbs of Manes, Missouri, Ronie Barnes and husband, Marty, of Manes, Missouri, and Rachel Willhite and husband, Chris, of Manes, Missouri; one brother: Mack Dobbs of Cleveland, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends who will miss him.
