Ronnie Wayne “Butch” Cravens, son of Rev. Marvin and Doris (Freeman) Cravens, was born October 20, 1956, at Springfield, Missouri, and passed from this life on July 11, 2022, at his home in Springfield, Missouri, at 65 years, 8 months, and 22 days of age.
Butch lived his early life in Dunnegan, Missouri. The family later moved to Moberly, Missouri, where he graduated from high school in 1975. He attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. He then moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he lived the rest of his life. He worked odd jobs and eventually owned and operated his own business installing closet shelving systems.
Butch was always an artist at work, doing pen and ink drawings. He also enjoyed photography, singing, and playing the harmonica. Butch was saved and baptized at an early age.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Marvin Lester Cravens; and by a nephew, Jason Moore.
Butch is survived by his mother, Doris Cravens of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters, Connie Moore and husband, Wayne, of Springfield, Missouri, and Melba Chance and husband, Paul, of The Colony, Texas; niece, Katie (Moore) Phillips and children, Blake and Eva of Brookline, Missouri; nephew, Ryan Chance of Newark, Texas; niece, Christy (Chance) Melia and her husband, Chris, and children, Levi, Tristan, and Kiah of Whitesboro, Texas; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
