Rollin Dean Kendall, son of the late James Allen and Merta Elizabeth (Stocking) Kendall, was born on June 26, 1922 in Cedar Vale, Kansas and departed this life on February 6, 2011 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri. He was 88 years, 8 months and 11 days of age. He was the youngest of eleven children.
Rollin grew up in Kansas, where his folks were wheat farmers for many years. He attended high school in Oklahoma and graduated from Stonewall High School in 1941. He served his country in the United States Army from October 1942 to March 1946 during World War II as a Glider Pilot during the European Campaign.
Following his discharge from the military, he was united in marriage to Kay Jones in 1946. They lived in southern California for many years where he was employed as a pipe fitter. In 1978 they moved to a farm north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and attended the Friendship Baptist Church until their health started failing. They left the farm and moved into Mtn. Grove in 1984. Mrs. Kendall passed away on July 19, 1985.
Rollin was later married to Edna Wallace in 1986. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and traveling. He was a Mason for over fifty-years.
Besides his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by ten siblings.
He is survived by several nieces; nephews; great nieces; great-nephews; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 8, at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation: No Formal
Friends may call at their convenience Monday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
