Rodney Grant “Rod” Williams, son of Tilden Williams and Ruby (Pruett) Williams, was born February 15, 1947, in Ava, Missouri, and departed this life on January 5, 2023, at his home near Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 20 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
Rod is survived by his significant other, Loretta Long; three daughters, Angela Bolz and husband, Greg, of Mansfield, Rayla Williams and husband, Orlando, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Eden Williams of Mansfield; two sons, Curtis Williams of Pevely, Missouri and Brian Williams of Bonne Terre, Missouri; grandchildren, Cheri, Landy, Evan, Rayland, Matthew, Austin, Abby, Serenitee, Zelia, Rena, Grant, Erin, and Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Williams and wife, Phyllis, of Ozark; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rod was a graduate of Chadwick High School and received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State University. He taught 6th grade at Billings schools and was a GED instructor at Farmington Correctional Center and Ozark Correctional Center at Fordland for many years before retiring and was of the Baptist faith.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and fishing. In later years, he loved feeding birds and deer, as well as watching old westerns and football.
Rod was a loving companion, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
