Rodney Lynn Dake, son of David Dake and Shirley (Berry) Bell, was born August 26, 1973, in Mansfield, Missouri, and passed away February 17, 2019, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. He was 45 years, 5 months, and 22 days of age.
Rodney grew up in the Mountain Grove, Dora, and Norwood communities. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball while attending school in Dora. He and his family moved to the Norwood, Missouri area where he graduated from Norwood High School. Rodney had many different jobs throughout his life. He worked in many different areas of construction, and also has worked as a concrete finisher and steel worker. He repossessed cars when he lived in Indiana for a time. He has also did some logging and worked in a sawmill, as well as other odd jobs throughout his life.
Rodney enjoyed deer hunting and especially enjoyed turkey hunting. His favorite place to hunt was Mill Holler. He liked to fish, and liked to go gigging and grabbing. He always enjoyed floating the river and camping at Big Rock on the Bryant River. Rodney loved spending time with his family and treasured the time he would spend with his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. He really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
Rodney was preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Bell, and by his grandparents on both sides.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Bell of Drury, Missouri, his father, David Dake and his wife, Debbie, of Norwood, Missouri, one daughter, Ashley Chambers and Levi of West Plains, Missouri, two sons, Bailey Dake and his wife, Katlyn, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Jayden Dake of Indiana, one step-daughter, McKayla Adkins of Indiana, one grandson, Gaven White, and one granddaughter on the way, Everleigh Dake, one brother, Brad Dake of Dora, Missouri, three sisters, Trish Thompson and her husband, Mike, of Dora, Missouri, Maryann Potter and her husband, Rusty, of Norwood, Missouri, and Kisha Parmenter of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him.
