Robert Wayne Gray

September 16, 1931 — May 12, 2013

Robert Wayne Gray, son of the late Alva and Tina (Drumwright) Gray, was born on September 16, 1931 in Macomb, Missouri, and departed this life on May 12, 2013 at his residence in Norwood, Missouri, with his family by his side. He was 81 years, 7 months, and 26 days of age.
Robert grew up and attended school in the Norwood and Macomb Communities. He was united in marriage to Faye Owens on August 5, 1952 in Hardy, Arkansas. Four children were born to this union. They made their home and raised their family on a farm just west of Norwood, where they had lived for almost 60 years.
Robert was employed as a truck driver for many years and he also enjoyed farming all of his life. He liked to be outdoors; tending to his farm, quail hunting, fishing, grabbing suckers and gigging. He also looked forward to his annual Colorado Elk hunting trips each year.
Robert was a kind and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Each year, Robert and Faye held a Fourth of July celebration for their entire family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Gary Gray in 2002 and Mike Gray in 2003; one brother: James Gray in 2008; and by his sister and brother-in-law: Velta Alpha Dean Holloman in 2003 and Rev. Richard Holloman in 2001.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty-one years: Faye Gray of their home; his daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Paul Greenfield; his son and daughter-in-law: Bobby and Lorie Gray, all of Norwood, Missouri; two brothers: Richard Gray and his wife, Julie, and Kenneth Gray and his wife, Betty, all of Macomb, Missouri; a half-brother: Dillard Gray of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren: Marissa Cooley, Steven Greenfield, Cody Greenfield, Brandon Gray and Clayton Gray; seven great-grandchildren: Kylee, Candace, Justin, Jordyn, Dylan, Wyatt, Taylor, Gracie and Aiden; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Robert will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
