Robert 'Bob' Eugene Stauffer

March 2, 1931 — January 24, 2012

Robert “Bob” Eugene Stauffer, son of the late William and Anna (Tiefenbraun) Stauffer, was born on March 2, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life on January 24, 2012 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, at 80 years of age.
Bob grew up in the St. Louis and Leslie, Missouri areas and graduated from Jennings High School in Jennings, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He entered in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1954 and specialized as an Aviation Crash Crewman. During his time in the Marines, he enjoyed being on the boxing team.
Bob truly loved being outdoors, enjoying his surroundings and going camping when he got the chance. He liked to do woodworking, cooking, storytelling and he was known as an avid reader.
Bob was united in marriage to Charlotte Jerilee Fowler on October 23, 1987 in Springfield, Missouri. Together they raised ten children. They moved from the St. Louis area to the Mtn. Grove Community in 1982. Charlotte passed away on April 11, 2008.
Bob loved his family very much and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He considered himself a “jack of all trades” throughout his life. He liked doing all kinds of work. His last job was in maintenance at the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers: William Stauffer and Donald Stauffer; and by a granddaughter: MacKenna Stauffer.
He is survived by his three sons: Robert T. Stauffer of St. Louis, Missouri, William “Billy” Stauffer of Mtn. Grove and Steven Stockwell of Urbana, Illinois; seven daughters: Karen Brandemeyer of St. Louis, Missouri, Christine Curtiss of St. Peters, Missouri, Venessa Gamez of Fair Grove, Missouri, Marilyn Krieger of Pevely, Missouri, Denise Allen and Mary Lyons, both of St. Charles, Missouri and Roberta Thompson of Martinsburg, West Virginia; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
