Ricky Burton Friend

Ricky Burton Friend, son of the late Harold and Dixie (McMurtrey) Friend, was born on June 4, 1955 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on January 28, 2013 at his residence north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at 57 years of age.
Ricky grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School.
He was employed for twenty-seven years by the Frito-Lay Company and retired in October of 2012.
He was married to Linda Kaye Hinton on September 5, 2003 in Oklahoma. They made their home near Mtn. Grove for the past nine years, so Rick could take care of his father, Harold Friend, who lived in the Dawson area.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman, especially when hunting and fishing. He liked to garden and was an excellent cook. He enjoyed playing music and singing. He also looked forward to family gatherings.
Rick was a loving son, husband, father and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Lori Ann Friend and Tina Sue Friend.
Rick is survived by his wife: Linda Kaye Friend of their home; two daughters: Ashley Malone and her husband, Rob, and Hallie Friend, all of Kansas City, Missouri; a step-daughter: Rhiannon Czigan and her husband, Micah, of Virginia; and a half-sister: Teresa Colby and her husband, Roger, of Oseola, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.

in the Friendship Cemetery.



Visitation: Thursday,
January 31, 2013 from
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the
funeral home.
