Richard Lee Hensley, son of William “Bill” and Neva (Hoebucket) Hensley, was born on December 10, 1957 in Tacoma, Washington, and passed away on October 15, 2012 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 54 years, 10 months, and 5 days of age.
Richard was half Native American from the tribe of Quileute. Richard lived in several states growing up as a child, but as an adult, Missouri became his home.
He worked in construction throughout his life until his health started failing. Richard was united in marriage to Sherry Loper on May 10, 1980. Two sons were born to this union.
For over thirty years, Richard lived and raised his family in Mtn. Grove.
Richard enjoyed fishing and history. He was also an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.
He was preceded in death by a brother: William “Billy” Hensley.
Survivors include his wife: Sherry Hensley of Springfield, Missouri; his sons: Tyler Hensley and his wife, Courtney, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Joshua Hensley and Ashlee Cowin of Springfield, Missouri; his father: Bill Hensley of Alabama; his mother: Neva Hoebucket of La Push, Washington; two sisters: Glenda Hensley and Kay Hensley; two grandsons; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will miss him very much.
