Rex Winter

Rex Albert Winter, son of Rudolph Winter and Opal McGehee Winter, was born August 28, 1939, in Fair Grove, Missouri, and departed this life July 30, 2022, at Glenwood Healthcare Center in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Clint Winter, daughter, Paula Freeman, brother, Warren Winter, and nephew, Shawn Snider.

Rex is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Tony Boring and wife, Missy, and Ellis Boring and wife, Carmen, all of Seymour; daughters, Ursula Cron and husband, Ron, of Marshfield, Claudia White of Fulton, and Laura Cooke and husband, Malcomb, of South Wales; grandchildren, Charles White, Michael White, Madelyn West and husband, Dakota, Matthew Boring, Michelle Curran and husband, Bill, Angela Fysh and husband, Martin, Mandy Boring, Mark Boring and wife, Kristen, Jake Boring and wife, Madison, Bailey Bates and husband, Talon, and McCoy Boring and Tyffany; several great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Winter of Springfield; sister, Linda Snider of Pineville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

He was born in Fair Grove and graduated from Fair Grove High School in the Class of 1957. He then entered the United States Navy where he served his country faithfully for 23 years retiring from the Navy on May 1, 1984. He then returned to Marshfield and began working for Hutchens’ Industries in Seymour, where he retired in 2001.

Rex made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a longtime member of the Seymour First Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher. Rex was Louise’s Sunday School teacher. They developed a friendship, enjoyed each other’s company, married on October 11, 2003, and Rex made Seymour his home. Together they shared almost 19 years together.

In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, gardening, traveling, and going to the grandkids’ ballgames.

Rex was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and kind man who will be greatly missed.
