Mildred Lucille (Jones) Frost, daughter of George and Mary (Boyd) Jones was born at Stillwater, Oklahoma on August 16, 1923. When she was about a year old, the family moved to Golden, Missouri. She attended the Golden School up to her sophomore year. Then the family moved to a farm near what was then Baxter, Missouri.
She graduated from Blue Eye High School in 1941. She attended Southwest Baptist College at Bolivar, Missouri and taught school 2 years in Stone County. One term was at Jones School, so named because her Grandfather had given the land for the school.
Later she taught one year in Wright County. In 1943, she met and married Edward Frost, when he received his discharge from the service. They bought a farm near Willow Springs. While living there, Mildred accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1951.
Later she was filled with the spirit and at that time she received a call from God to preach in 1953. She preached her first sermon at Willow Springs. She taught Sunday school class and worked in Children’s Church. She would go one Sunday a month and preach at the Simmons Valley School House which was between Willow Springs and Mountain View. After this she pastored Church for a year or more.
In 1955 the family, which now included two sons, moved to Mountain Grove. In 1956, she began pastoring the Twin Knobs Pentecostal Church. She quit the church for about a year and held revivals. Then returned to the church and remained there for approximately 55 years.
She was an Ordained Minister. She took several correspondence courses. She loved to read and had over 50 Bibles besides hundreds of other books. She gave away over a hundred new Bibles and was a member of the American Bible Society Bible a Month Club.
She was Director of Children’s Church at Black Jack Camp from the time they started until her health deteriorated. She prayed for many and saw many prayers answered and was always willing to help others in a time of need. Such as, sponsoring a crippled orphan Korean girl, (Park Hae Hung) until she was grown.
She was strict in her belief, because she said, “the Bible taught a straight and narrow way for us to walk, talk, and be.”
She loved little children; she taught them at times by using puppets to get the truths of God across to them. She loved to teach the Bible and taught Sunday school for many years. Mildred also had Bible study at Church.
She wrote several songs and played the guitar until her right hand was injured in an accident and she developed arthritis. She cared for all people and received many requests for prayers.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edward on (August 14, 2002); two brothers: Loyd and Orvan; four sisters: Hazel, Evalena, Cory, and Eldeana; one son: Eddie Duane; and a great-great granddaughter.
