Raymond Reed Freels

Raymond Reed Freels, son of the late Lewis and Ida (Gilley) Freels, was born March 18, 1930, near Dawson, Missouri, and departed this life March 15, 2023, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 92 years, 11 months, and 28 days of age.

Reed lived most of his life in the Dawson area. He married Bonnie Lawson in 1951. Three Daughters were born to this union.

Reed worked for 34 years with the Missouri Highway Department. He was a member of Dawson Assembly of God church and served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and taught the adult Sunday School class for many years. When he was home, he greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in the garden, cutting wood, or other various jobs that were a part of farm life.

Besides his parents, Reed was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Bonnie, one daughter, Barbara Adams, two sons-in-law, Junior Boykin and Dave Adams, one grandson, Jeremy Adams, one brother, Russell Freels, and one sister, Hazel Freels.

He is survived by two daughters, Celah Boykin of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Linda Loughridge and her husband, Dale, of the Bendavis, Missouri, area, six grandchildren, Daniel Boykin and his wife, Becky, Darian Boykin and his wife, Gina, and Kenny Loughridge and his wife, Sarah, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Cheryl Richardson and her husband, Rick, of Marshfield, Missouri, Jeff Adams and his fiancé, Phoebe, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Amanda Dale and her husband, Adam, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, 24 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, church family, and friends who will miss him.
